Filip Miucin And The Unapologetic Apology [DEAD CELLS REVIEW DRAMA]
August 11, 2018 | 400 Views
I had recently shared some brief thoughts about this over on my Facebook account, but I felt that this deserved a bit more of an in-depth discussion to really air my thoughts. I find it highly unprofessional that Filip handled his “apology” video so poorly. Not once did he actually apologise for blatantly ripping off the original video, but he insisted on playing it out as if he was the victim here and how this was just an unfortunate turn of events that wasn’t caused by him intentionally stealing someone else’s content.
“The bottom line is what happened with the Dead Cells review was not intentional.”
Fillip blatantly avoiding accepting responsibility over his poor choices in regards to “creating” a review…
What makes it worse is that he has now taken the video down (Unless he is piecing together another apology video, this was quite a bad move to make.), regardless as to whether or not it was receiving hate, which it certainly was, he should have turned the options for comments off and left it up. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the chatter he will be receiving will be very negative and likely, not justifiable, but surely he would have expected this. Replying with half-assed apology videos and then taking them down isn’t going to help things either. Not only that, but he was ensuring that only positive comments would be shown at the very top of the feed(s) pushing down all of the negative ones, which is expected by someone in this situation, but it only shows that he still fails to accept the responsibility of this situation. Returning to the previous quote, “The bottom line is what happened with the Dead Cells review was not intentional.”… what, did he watch it then accidentally structure his video similarly to it? and just poorly reword the original wording to suit his tastes? You can’t unintentionally plagiarize someone and to try and act as if that was the case is ludicrous.
Filip Miucin posted a monetized “apology” video where he apologized to IGN and the Dead Cells dev but not to boomstick gaming. He also said his plagiarism was unintentional. It had over 11 thousand dislikes to 1000 likes and so many comments calling him out….

I know that completely admitting to plagiarising another person’s work would be the final nail in the coffin for his career, but in reality, there isn’t much else he can do in this situation when all the evidence is there against him. To try and salvage any dignity he has left, he really should just give a sincere apology to the YouTuber BoomStick Gaming and try to best move on with this situation. Trying to brush this under the carpet and go back to making YouTube videos, as stated on his official Twitter account, is not going to work in his favour. Yes, he may still have some fans who have overlooked this hiccup in his career, but unless he handles this properly and professionally I don’t see him having a good reception to any content he creates in the near future on any of his platforms. In all honesty, I still don’t know why he did this when working for such a big name as IGN, to assume that someone won’t notice you stealing their own content on the IGN platform is obscene and just shows how little effort he put into his first and ultimately the last video review for IGN.
“You can keep looking, Kotaku, and please let me know if you find anything,” Filip Miucin said in his video addressing the plagiarism allegations last night.

His situation only appears to get worse, as, in light of this situation, there have been more discussions online in regards to more of his content being plagiarized from other content creators. Which really only adds fuel to the already raging fire that is his career burning down. I don’t know how you can really recover from this, it’s quite hard to convince people that your content is your own after being caught red-handed stealing it elsewhere, but I still feel that until he properly deals with this situation that that recovery process won’t start any time soon. I hadn’t heard of Fillip prior to this situation being publicised, but I definitely won’t be following him after this either, unfortunately, that sort of response isn’t ideal for someone who is trying to get back on his feet after something like this. The only positive thing to come from this is the increase of support that BoomStick has received from this situation occurring. It’s not ideal and it still doesn’t make up for what Fillip has done, but its an amazing thing to see and I only hope that he continues to grow in popularity as he truly deserves it.
On a final note… I hope he has learnt his lesson as he successfully Killed his career, Died inside a little for such shameful actions (well you’d imagine he at least feels bad right?), Learned not to Repeat his actions. I don’t even feel sorry about that last part, similar to how he doesnt feel sorry about what he has done. Anyway, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
