Final Fantasy 7’s Cloud Strife in Super Smash Bros!?

Wait!? WHAT!

I was just playing Fallout 4 moments ago when Stewthepoo linked me a Nintendo Direct video, or at least a snippet from the most recent one and it appeared to be a Super Smash Brothers video showcasing Cloud Strife as a playable character. I shrugged this off as a fake and him teasing me but I paused the game and watched it anyway… Oh god, the Final Fantasy fan boy lost it. I did not see something like this coming at all and from what I saw in the video, the attention to detail and the effort behind it was unreal, Nintendo are on the ball with DLC recently and in my eyes this is an excellent example of it. Not everyone is a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise, but its admirable regardless just how much effort they are putting in to the additional characters for the roster.

I’m still amazed by this, I just cannot get over how good this looks. I mean the Midgar level, the summons, the limit breaks, that god damn OMNISLASH! The music made it more intense, imagine playing any smash level with Still Fighting blaring in the background as you maul your opponents. Its every Final Fantasy fans dream. I think I’ll be hyped for a while, but what also got me interested was the section at the end saying there will be an announcement/special broadcast in December. Who knows what else they have in stock for us! I can admit my reaction is heavily influenced by my love of Final Fantasy 7 but come on who can blame me! Its totally justifiable. Now, I can get back to Fallout 4 and let the fan boy hype cool down…

Anyway, whats your thoughts on this? Who else do you want to see turn up in the roster? Let us know in the comments.
