Giving Sick Kids A Power Up!! Get Well Gamers UK

I’ve got some exciting news, I’m joining the UK team at Get-Well Gamers as a volunteer to help make their mission a reality and aim to bring joy to thousands of children and young people in hospitals across the country. I stumbled across the group not too long ago and instantly knew this was something that I really wanted to get involved in, not only because it’s for an excellent cause but because I personally know first hand the enjoyment and escape from reality that a good video game can bring to you. Let’s face it, nobody enjoys spending time in a hospital and when you are required to spend long periods of time in care, it can become quite difficult and that’s quite an unpleasant situation for anyone to be in. I still remember to this day when I was younger I was in a hospital for a short period of time after surgery and even then it felt like forever to me, one of the things that I remember the most was the Super Nintendo that was available for myself and other children to play. It allowed me to speak with others, keep myself busy and made the time I spent there more enjoyable.
Let’s face it, nobody enjoys spending time in a hospital and when you are required to spend long periods of time in care, it can become quite difficult and that’s quite an unpleasant situation for anyone to be in. Get-Well Gamers are working with the community to pull together donations to help local hospitals gather the necessary stock to allow them to enable patients to have the means to sit down and play Video Games! an excellent way to escape from reality and pass the time. I can relate to this feeling because when I was younger I was in a hospital for a short period of time after surgery and even then it felt like forever to me, one of the things that I remember the most was the Super Nintendo that was available for myself and other children to play. It allowed me to speak with others, keep myself busy and made the time I spent there more enjoyable. If it made that much of a difference to me during my time in the hospital, I’m positive it will do the same if not more to other children who could do with it even more than I needed it.

A Gamer who loves pretty much all genres of Games! (More so RPG, FPS, Survival Horror, Action Adventure etc.) Known to collect “Retro Games and Consoles” and also for being guilty of having an ever expanding back log of games. To get to know him better and see what he’s been up to, catch him online via his Gaming Accounts… You know what to do!
I have set this feature up to allow those who wish to donate, to donate to the project and help keep it alive. Every donation goes toward funding the site, covering hosting, funding toward equipment and allowing me to ensure that I can allocate more time to this project. Please do not feel obliged to donate, it is entirely your choice to do so. Even sharing the content I write and film or the Gaming Archive with your friends and family is a great help to me. But, if you do wish to donate please ensure that you leave a personal message so I can get back in touch with you directly. Thanks for taking the time to read this message.
