Agony First Impressions

From the moment I heard about Agony, I was intrigued, I was really hoping for something similar to the Outlast series but far more twisted in regards to the style of the game. The promise of a dark fantasy survival horror game sounded great, due to me just recently finishing Outlast, the memories of such an intense game still lingered in my mind and had me hyped for what Agony could bring to the table… but does it hold up to my expectations so far? Well…
I’ve only spent a brief amount of time with the game so far and it’s left a bitter taste in my mouth… from the glitchy gameplay, jarring audio and overall clunkiness of it… I just don’t feel like its living up to what I was expecting. I was hoping for something a bit more exciting and polished off, more so for the price this game was selling for. Yes it’s still early days and I’ve not given it much time, but if it’s failing to get me interested this early on and is littered with bugs like this, then I feel like it will be a struggle to hook me in. I recall being warned of a day one patch to fix a lot of issues, but if these are still present then I worry what it was like prior to this.
Sacred Agony Will Mess You Up
Quote from http://agonygame.com/
I don’t quite think it messed me up in the way I was expecting, but this bumpy start has shaken me to my very core… jokes aside, I do have hope for the game. I really wish I had more to say at the moment and on a more positive note, but I’ll leave going into great detail until I’ve had some more time with the game and have my review ready. At the moment I’m quite disappointed with what I have seen. On the other hand, I really do hope that down the line Agony can change my mind about the game itself and redeem itself.
